“The most important part of my job as a pediatric dentist is prevention: the idea that through education and motivation, infants, children, and adults can have healthy teeth and a positive outlook on dentistry. I love seeing the smile on a young person’s face after doing a great job at the visit. It is amazing to see what patients can accomplish when they are listened to, supported, and then motivated!” — Dr. Van
Dr. Van grew up right down the street in Newton. After attending Newton North High School and the University of Vermont, he completed his dental degree at the University of Pennsylvania and his pediatric dental specialty at UCLA.
Dr. Van is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is one of a small number of pediatric dentists who have completed this additional degree of recognized excellence in pediatric dentistry. Additionally, his two-year residency in pediatric dentistry gave him extensive experience working with children and adolescents with special needs, sedation dentistry, state-of-the-art technology, and the most up-to-date research in the field.
When he’s not in the office, Dr. Van loves spending time with his wife, Alli, and his family. They love to cook, take spin class, and watch movies. Dr. Van is a huge Boston sports fan and loves competing in sports as well.
